The start of an incredible story

Mathieu Teisseire, a maker and seller of liqueurs and vinegars originally from the South of France, moves to Grenoble, in the Alps, where he establishes a distillery.
His production of ratafia, a cherry-based liqueur, made himrich fame and famous.

Family business

Camille Teisseire, the grandson of Mathieu Teisseire, takes on the family business. Politically active, he is a member of the National Assembly for the department of Isère andeventually left the family business.

Teisseire changes ownership

François Reynaud, a liqueur and spirits merchant and the founder of the Reynaud family line, aquires the business.

A breath of fresh air

After François’ death, his two sons begin production of alcohol-free syrups with the aid of pasteurisation, a technique discovered at the end of the 19th century.

The Tour de France

The idea for the Teisseire bottle was strongly inspired by the bottles used by the riders in the Tour de France. After mixing a syrup with water in one of these now-famous bottles, the idea takes off that this could be the company’s finished product, for large scale production.

With the aid of their famous advertising vans, Teisseire goes on to become one of the first businesses to appear in the Tour de France’s publicity caravan.

A revolution

Launch of the company’s celebrated metal bottle.
Light yet unbreakable, this bottle is also better at keeping the product fresh. This revolutionary packaging will make the glory of Teisseire which will conquer the mass market.

A new home

Construction of a new production facility in Crolles (department 38).

Creation of Teisseire’s iconic bottle

Teisseire launches its first ‘shaped’ metal bottle and wins the French Packaging Award. The business reaffirms its leadership in the syrup market.

Launch of Teisseire Sugar Free.
A range of syrups with zero sugar for a moment of enjoyment with no compromise on quality.

A floud of flavours

Britvic acquires Teisseire, thereby becoming one of the world’s largest syrup and squash manufacturers. More syrups, product innovations and even more flavours will follow.
